Hayley Didn’t Want This Baby Either

Hayley Lawson has faked a pregnancy before, so fans have every right to squint at this one. This time, the reaction told the story. She took the test, saw two lines and screamed. Then she threw the test across the room.

That’s not a woman who planned a baby to trap a rich husband. That’s a woman whose entire exit strategy blew up in her hands, and she knows it.

The clues were already there. Leslie Thomas told her she’d gained weight and offered her mint gum. A minute later, Hayley was nauseated, pushing away an ice cream sundae and bolting from the table. Everyone at Orphie Gene’s saw it coming except her.

Wasn’t Hayley on the Pill?

Here’s question number one. Hayley was supposedly on the pill. This is a woman who plans everything, from the poison in her husband’s drinks to the blackmail deal that got her charges dropped. Are we really supposed to believe the one thing she didn’t control was her own birth control?

Either the pill failed, or Hayley got sloppy, or there’s more to this story than she’s telling. Hayley Lawson doesn’t do accidents. When something happens around her, there’s usually a plan behind it, and a victim in front of it.

Wasn’t Bill Hamilton Dying?

Question number two is even messier. Bill Hamilton spent months being slowly poisoned by his own wife. He was weak, sick and collapsing, and the whole town thought he was on his way out.

Sure, Bill and Hayley were probably still sleeping together. But even if they were, how viable could his swimmers be with all that poison in his system? A man that sick can barely get out of bed, and not in the fun way. If this child is Bill’s, it’s the miracle baby of the century, conceived while his wife was trying to send him to an early grave.

And let’s not forget, this is the same woman who once told Bill “there was never a baby.” He’s not going to take her word for anything this time, and he shouldn’t.

Then Who’s the Daddy?

If it isn’t Bill, let’s talk about Kyle Abbott. During the crossover tornado, Genoa City’s golden boy played hero, saved Hayley’s life and ended up stuck with her in the dark while the storm raged. She thanked him with a kiss. Hayley doesn’t do anything halfway, so how far did that thank-you go?

Let’s not pretend Bill has the moral high ground here. While Hayley was in the dark with Kyle, Bill was stuck in an elevator with Dani Dupree, and we all know how that turned out. Nobody in that marriage was home that night.

The timing is a little rich, though. That tornado hit back in June. Either soap time is doing its thing, or Hayley ignored a whole lot of signs for a whole lot of months.

A Kyle baby would be pure chaos. Picture Jack Abbott finding out his next grandchild came from the woman who poisoned her husband. And Diane Jenkins would finally come out of hiding and be on the first flight to Fairmont Crest with a lawyer and a plan.

There’s also the possibility nobody wants to say out loud. Hayley Lawson has lied about a baby before. Until a doctor confirms this pregnancy on camera, we’re keeping one eyebrow raised. A pink test in a hotel room proves nothing when the woman holding it has a track record like hers.
