The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for Wednesday, October 28 are short and sweet: Dylan stands up for herself. Melissa “Miss” Dylan has spent two weeks being pushed around, and one preview says she is “Ms. Nice Guy” right up until she is pushed hard enough. On Wednesday, she is.

The setup comes Tuesday, when Will Spencer wants to show her everything his world has to offer. One preview calls it the perks of dating a zillionaire’s son. Then Friday, Will takes the next step in his relationship with Dylan. So whatever Melissa Dylan says on Wednesday, it lands right between a shopping spree and a big romantic move.

It has been a rough month for her. Ridge Forrester fired her on October 12, two days before Will finally said “I love you too,” the moment we covered when Will declared his love after her firing. Zende Forrester Dominguez walked out with her and joined Logan on October 14. Dylan is still out of work.

Suspect One: Katie and the Logan Job

On October 21 Will asked his mother, Katie Logan Spencer, to hire Dylan. Katie said she would consider it but would not support what she called a doomed relationship. This week’s preview says she is still not a fan of Will’s girlfriend, and nobody knows if Dylan will be Logan’s next hire.

Katie’s doubts go back to August 5, when she demanded, “Who are you, Melissa Dylan? And what exactly do you want from my son?!” By late August she was holding it against Dylan that she grew up reading about the Spencers in the press, as if a girl with a magazine subscription must be after the money. In September came “not Spencer quality” and “Finish the job, Melissa.”

Heather Tom has said Katie does not hate poor people. The Spencers are billionaires, she explained, so Katie has to look out for that, though she does not think money is the main reason Katie distrusts Dylan.

Who Does Dylan Stand Up to on Bold and the Beautiful?

Nobody has named the target, so here is the field. Our pick is Katie. Here is what nobody else has lined up: those Spencer magazines Katie used against Dylan are the same ones Dylan and her mother read growing up. Now Will is walking her straight into that glossy world, the Polo Lounge and Rodeo Drive kind of week. That is Katie’s accusation come to life, two days before Katie goes on the warpath against Forrester.

Suspect two is Will’s money. One preview insists Dylan is not interested in the lifestyle and cares about Will himself. Remember, she moved out of his garage apartment in April to prove herself at Forrester. A woman like that might tell her boyfriend to put the credit card away. One reader on our Facebook page put it bluntly: Katie owes Dylan, and it is time to pay up.

Suspect Three: Darcy Shows Up With a Bag of Work Clothes

Then there is Mom. Darcy Dylan is on screen Tuesday through Thursday, and this week she turns up at the beach house with professional clothes for her daughter. She also shares some concerns with Will before Melissa Dylan joins the conversation. Is Darcy worried about the romance, or pushing that Logan job a little too hard?

Darcy has her own Wednesday distraction. She meets Wyatt Spencer for the first time on the beach house deck, and sparks fly. We have been tracking where Will plans to take things, from the beach house Electra left behind to the question of whether Will is about to make Dylan a Spencer.

Does Wednesday stall Friday? Probably not. One outlet’s read is that Dylan stands up for herself and she and Will still take the next step. A skeptic on our page thinks Will is going to get tired of her. My gut says a woman who pushes back is the one he keeps.

Will’s tour of the good life just hands his mother the ammunition, and Darcy’s work clothes say this family wants Dylan earning her own way.
