SPINE NOT INCLUDED! B&B’s Finn Lets Steffy Walk All Over Him…Again
B&B’s Finn lets Steffy walk all over him again, answering Carter’s baby news with “I get it,” so this golden retriever needs a spine.
FINN NEEDS A BACKBONE WHERE STEFFY FORRESTER IS CONCERNED
TL;DR: B&B’s Finn lets Steffy walk all over him again, answering news that she’s carrying Carter’s baby with “I get it,” so this golden retriever husband needs to grow a spine.

A Golden Retriever In A Lab Coat
Finn has the finest bedside manner in Los Angeles and no spine to hold it up. Monday proved it again. Daphne Rosegushed in his office about hearing the baby’s heartbeat, and the doctor admitted it was hard to be upset about something making her so happy, which is a lovely sentiment from a man whose wife is carrying Carter Walton’s baby.
The real belly rub came at the cliff house, once the kids were out and the couple got around to discussing the awkward fact that Carter’s baby is inside Steffy Forrester. Her husband announced this out loud like a weather report, asked how it happened, and then said he could see how she got swept up in Daphne’s excitement and gratitude. “I get it,” he told her. Steffy’s reply, “You get it?”, came out as a croak, which is the sound of a woman who braced for a fight and got a participation ribbon.
By the end of the scene he was calling her gift to Carter and Daphne profound, and he said it made him see her integrity and loyalty. That is a glowing review for a woman who has been steering around the truth since the procedure. Steffy cried, said she loved him so much, and promised to carry the baby, hand it over, and let everything go back to normal, and the golden retriever nodded like it was a perfectly reasonable plan.

His NO Expires Before The Next Scene
Finn does say no. The trouble is that his no has the shelf life of a banana. Steffy floated the surrogate idea before the conference, he shut it down, and she went ahead with the procedure while he was out of town anyway. His big reaction was to ask whether this was really what she wanted, then wonder if the night she left him in Monaco was the real reason, so he turned his own wife’s secret into a question about her feelings. Nobody asked what he wanted, least of all him.
The blow-up lasted about two days. Wednesday he ranted to his mother that his wife could be having a baby with Carter, and Thursday he demanded answers and ordered a blood test on the spot, and when the results showed she was pregnant, he stood there and stared while Daphne hugged Steffy and called her “sister.” Friday he grudgingly congratulated Daphne, which is the verbal equivalent of a sulk with a bow on it. Every limit this man sets comes on a leash long enough to wrap around the block.

Two Doctors, Zero Follow-Up Questions
His mother, Li Finnegan, has more edge than he does. Li shot Steffy a furious glance, congratulated everybody anyway, and pulled out a heartbeat monitor so they could listen on the couch, where she found a beat so strong so early. On Monday, Finn admitted that he and his mom were both surprised, and then the two of them dropped it. Two doctors, one head-scratcher, and not a single follow-up question, so medical school clearly skips the chapter on asking another one.
What A Spine Would Sound Like
It would take one sentence. “You decided this without me, and we are going to talk about what it costs us.” That is all, and it would fit on a sticky note. Instead, his wife got a thank-you for her integrity from a man who already told her no once and watched her do it anyway.

Sit, Stay, And Grow A Backbone
Daphne is the only person in that office getting everything she dreamed of, and she has earned every minute of the joy. Steffy is carrying a baby and a secret, and Carter is cheering from the sidelines. Meanwhile, the one man with every right to put his foot down keeps rolling over, so how many “I get it” moments does Finn have left before somebody mistakes him for furniture? Would a real argument kill him, and who in that family will notice first when his patience finally runs out?
Sound off on our Facebook page and tell us what it would take for this man to finally put his foot down.
