TRISTAN ROBERTS SMELLED A RAT AT THE METRO COURT

TL;DR: This is speculation, but General Hospital’s Tristan Roberts has examined Nina Reeves, delivered Willow Tait’s lipstick, spotted Ava Jerome and Drew Cain huddled together, and told Dante Falconeri the PCPD arrested the wrong people, so the doctor may be the first to see what the cops are missing.

The One Man In Town With Nobody To Protect

Tristan Roberts keeps turning up in the right places without anyone asking him to notice a thing. He walked into the WSB site where Nina Reeves was being held, pronounced her healthy, and handed her a tube of lipstick from Willow Tait, which made Nina tear up. He earned that appointment the hard way, too. Willow had to ask nicely, and that is the sort of detail a careful doctor remembers.

He was also standing nearby when Lucas Jones paced the hospital waiting for Jack Brennan’s autopsy report, and Tristan agreed to Lucas’s request to see it. That is how Lucas ended up pointing out a sleeping pill in Jack’s system that the PCPD might have overlooked, and why a fully dressed man swallowing one on his own makes no sense at all.

Then Tristan sat down with Willow at the Metro Court restaurant and noticed the one thing in the room that did not match the story. Willow was cheerfully explaining that her mother might be released soon because Carly Spencer and Valentin Cassadine had been arrested and looked so guilty, and Tristan’s eyes drifted to Ava Jerome and Drew Cainwith their heads together at another table. He grew suspicious, headed straight to the PCPD, and told Dante Falconerithat the wrong people were in custody.

A Doctor’s Instincts, A Detective’s Problem

Here is why that should make the PCPD nervous. A surgeon spends the day walking into rooms where everyone insists they are fine and quietly working out who is not. Tristan Roberts does not owe Ava, Drew, Carly, or Valentin a thing, which means no loyalty is bending the way he reads a table. He does not need to know what really happened to Jack to recognize a huddle when he sees one, especially when the two people in it have the most to lose if anyone asks questions.

Upcoming episodes tease Tristan making a shocking revelation, and it is the kind of phrase that makes everyone wonder what a doctor knows. Does he put the sleeping pill together with what he saw at that table? Does he tell Dante everything, or does he keep digging on his own first? A man who is not part of the Port Charles family feud gets to ask the question nobody inside it can afford to.

Between Operations, Before The Next Arrest

The beauty of a doctor playing detective is the schedule. He can ask a question at the nurses’ station, pull a chart, or trade a word with Lucas in the hallway, and nobody gives it a second thought. Meanwhile the PCPD is leaning on a mountain of evidence aimed at Carly and Valentin: a charm bracelet, a computer virus from Carly’s office, a baggie from Valentin’s jacket, and a whole lot of silence. Tristan Roberts walks in with an observation no evidence board has room for, and he carries it with a very steady scalpel hand.

Who Does The Doctor Tell First?

Tristan Roberts is one conversation away from changing the shape of this case. So who hears it first: Dante, who already listened once, or Lucas, who has been trying to find something that clears Ava?
