CARLY SPENCER WON’T SELL OUT VALENTIN, NOT EVEN FOR DONNA

TL;DR: Carly Spencer refused Dante and Molly’s deal to give up Valentin, even with the camera virus traced to her office computer. Jason found that virus back on September 1. Monday she doubles down, and Sonny’s warning comes Wednesday.

The Deal Carly Turned Down

Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) refused a deal to give up Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) on Friday, November 6, and she did it with her freedom and her daughter on the line. Forensics traced the virus that shut down the Metro Court cameras the night of Jack Brennan‘s death to her office computer. Investigators think Valentin planted it.

Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) laid out the offer: give up Valentin and stay in Donna’s life. Then he went for the soft spot and asked whether she really wants Donna with Sonny full time, since everyone knows Sonny has not gone legit. Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) reminded Carly that Valentin tried to kill Jack once before and told her she needs to save herself.

Carly would not budge. Giving up Valentin would be a lie, she said, and a lie under oath is perjury. Plenty of people wanted Jack dead, and she told Molly, “If you looked hard enough, you just might find the connection.” Our November 6 recap has the full episode.

The Virus Is Two Months Old

Here is the part the PCPD’s big reveal leaves out. On September 1, Carly Spencer found the hotel security disabled and the alarm switched off, and she called in Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Jason found that a sophisticated virus had been installed through Carly’s office computer, and he believed the attack was deliberate. When they went to check on Jack, his room had clearly been searched.

So the “new” evidence is something Carly has known about since September 1. She says she told the WSB and the police. Dante says she never told him. Either way, the virus proves which computer was used. It does not prove whose hands were on the keyboard.

Now look at who wanted that room searched. On August 28, Ava Jerome (Maura West) crushed a sleeping pill from Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) into Jack’s drink so Drew could search Jack’s room for the evidence Jack held over him. Who planted the virus has not aired. But if I know these writers, the man with a reason to want the cameras dark that night was not Valentin.

Will Carly Spencer Take a Deal Against Valentin on General Hospital?

Not on Monday. Carly Spencer makes her loyalty to Valentin clear on November 9, and the pressure only builds from there. Tuesday, Joe and Molly hit pay dirt, with no word yet on whether it helps her or sinks her. Wednesday, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) issues a warning to Carly, and Thursday she fears his wrath. Track every beat in our two weeks of General Hospital spoilers.

Don’t be surprised if Sonny’s warning is about Donna. Dante put their daughter on the table Friday, and Sonny rarely sits still when a custody threat is in the air. Remember too that Carly has said she is protecting someone who is not the killer, and the Metro Court footage put Charlotte and Danny at the hotel. A deal on Valentin could pull those kids into the light.

The Champagne Across Town

While Carly sat across from Dante, Drew ordered champagne to toast the arrests and crowed that Carly in custody means one less person on Sonny’s side. Ava was not toasting. She reminded Drew she was seen drinking with Jack, and warned him, “If I’m exposed, you are exposed.” Our Jack Brennan suspect board already had them near the top.

The cracks are showing. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) asked for the commissioner Friday and told Dante he may have arrested the wrong people. Drew tries to reassure Ava on Wednesday, gets a reality check Thursday and pitches a drastic plan Friday. Ava’s own lawyer may be weighing a deal that turns Ava against Drew.

Why Carly Will Not Flip

Carly Spencer has burned bridges for less, so this refusal says something. Jason already refused Serena’s convenient alibi on her behalf, and now Carly is refusing the PCPD’s shortcut herself. She will not buy her way out with somebody else’s lie.

My gut tells me that is exactly what gets her out. A woman who will not lie is a terrible suspect to frame, and the virus trail leads back to a night when Drew needed Jack’s room searched.

Carly Just Bet Everything on Valentin

We are on Carly’s side here. The PCPD dressed up a two-month-old virus as a smoking gun and used her little girl as bait. She held the line, and the people who moved Jack’s body are the ones ordering champagne.

Sonny’s warning is next, and that is where her loyalty gets expensive. Tell us on our Facebook page whether Carly should keep standing by Valentin or take the deal for Donna.
