The Young and the Restless
Show Me The Money! Y&R’s Victor Newman Is Accidentally Funding His Own Downfall Through Phyllis Summers
Young and the Restless’s Victor Newman gifted Phyllis Summers Arabesque, and now she is using it to wage war on him, bearskin rug and all.
VICTOR NEWMAN GIFTED PHYLLIS THE THING THAT’S COMING FOR HIM
TL;DR: This is speculation, and very amused speculation at that, but Y&R’s Victor Newman gifted Phyllis Summers Arabesque, and now she is using it, the GCAC, and a building across from Newman Tower to wage the war of her dreams against him.

The World’s Most Expensive Trojan Horse
Victor Newman has won more fights than most men have had breakfasts, which is why it is so deliciously strange that he personally wrapped the weapon Phyllis Summers is now aiming at him. Victor handed her Arabesque as a gift. A gift! To Phyllis! A woman whose hobby is revenge and whose love language is the hostile takeover. Now Arabesque has its name on the building across from Newman Tower, the GCAC belongs to her, and a hotel plan is pointed straight at the one the Newmans are eyeing.
Michael Baldwin tried to be the voice of reason. He reminded Phyllis that Victor gifted her Arabesque and announced that she should not be poking the bear. Phyllis, who has never knowingly taken advice from a man in a good suit, vowed to kill the bear and turn him into a bearskin rug.
Her plan, so far, is to make so much noise that Nick Newman and Victor have no choice but to look. Phyllis said sticking it to Victor is non-negotiable, that she needs to be dramatic, and that she wants to get so far ahead of him that he can never screw her over again. She told Lauren Fenmore that this was her moment to have real power and leave Newman in the dust, which Lauren presumably heard from the safe side of the table.

Victor’s Gift Basket Keeps Giving
Look at the shopping list. Victor Newman supplied the company. Phyllis supplied the grudge. Daniel Romalottisupplied the caution and was politely told to hush, even after reminding his mother that respect has to go both ways. Everything that makes Phyllis dangerous came from somewhere, and a very large piece of it came from a man who presumably hoped generosity would keep her quiet.
Then comes the delicious detail that she is now the landlord. An upcoming episode has Diane Jenkins and Nikki Newman fighting over booking the lounge at the GCAC while Phyllis asks why anyone is so desperate. So Victor’s wife may soon be begging a favor from Victor’s gift, which is a sentence nobody in the Newman family wants read aloud at dinner.

One Bear, One Very Large Rug
Does Victor see this coming? He told Phyllis that fancy logos and braggadocio are not business success, and he insisted he already knows what she is up to. He is usually right, which is a problem when he is also the one who handed her something to be dramatic with. Spoilers tease Phyllis revealing a new business plan, and with her track record the plan will be loud, expensive, and aimed at a certain tower. If it works, Victor Newman will have funded a rival with excellent aim. If it fails, she will still blame him for the rug.

Who Steps On The Rug First?
Victor Newman does not lose often, and Phyllis does not lose gracefully. So when the war gets loud enough to hear from the ranch, who flinches first: the man who handed her the keys, or the woman who is about to use them?
