YVETTE NICOLE BROWN BRINGS HER HUSBAND TO FAIRMONT CREST

Yvette Nicole Brown is heading to Beyond the Gates, and she’s bringing her real-life husband, Anthony Davis, with her. She’ll play Temeka, a cousin of Shanice, and he’ll play her husband, Tony. Soap Opera News first reported the casting, and no air date has been announced.

Fairmont Crest is about to need more parking, because Yvette Nicole Brown is arriving as Temeka, a cousin of Ernestine Johnson’s Shanice Johnson. Her real-life husband, Anthony Davis, plays Tony, Temeka’s husband, so Beyond the Gates gets a married couple whose chemistry read was probably short. No air date has been announced, and nobody has said how long the pair plans to stay, which in a gated community is how every houseguest becomes a permanent resident. This neighborhood has never met a relative it could not turn into a plot.

A Famous Pair Rolls Into Town

Yvette Nicole Brown is best known as Shirley Bennett on Community, and she earned a 2021 Emmy nomination for A Black Lady Sketch Show. Anthony Davis is an actor and ordained pastor with credits that include The Family Business and The Upshaws. The two met in a church acting class in their twenties, lost touch for more than 25 years, and married in December 2024, which is a better origin story than most soap couples manage.
