One Prediction Sends Adam to Audra After Chelsea Said No to a Baby

Fans are asking one question in Young and the Restless spoilers chatter this weekend: will Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) cheat on Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver)? One prediction published Saturday has Adam’s baby hunger sending him to Audra for comfort, with Audra, not Chelsea, ending up pregnant. It cites no spoiler, preview or air date.

What has aired is Chelsea’s answer, and it’s no. On Monday, November 2, Adam told her, “Maybe we should do it, Chels. Maybe we should have another child.” The next day she pushed back and refused to have a baby just because Sally did. By Wednesday she was clear she doesn’t want one just to answer his grief over Ava, the daughter Adam and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) lost, stillborn in June 2023.

And no listing in next week’s spoilers puts Adam and Audra in a scene together. So where did this pairing come from? Mostly from two people who each want a baby they can’t have.

Adam and Audra Have Shared Deals, Threats and Warnings, Never a Romance

Their history is all business. In August 2023, the two bargained over the Newman Media merger, and after Audra came clean to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Adam vowed, “I will regain control of Newman Media one way or another… whatever it takes.” There was no flirting then, and none since.

This fall, Audra has been Sally’s guard dog. On October 7, she sat Adam and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) down on the coffeehouse patio, said Adam broke Sally’s heart and warned she would come for whoever ruined Sally’s day. After Adam delivered Sally’s daughter, Ruby, on October 20, he told Audra, “Right place, right time, I guess.” She told Chelsea his hospital visit seemed “a little strange.”

On Friday, when Adam rang Sally’s doorbell, Audra offered to throw him out and left with a warning not to press his luck. In Monday’s episode, already seen in Canada, she tells Sally that in Billy’s shoes she would have slapped Adam Newman. That is not a woman falling for him.

Will Adam Cheat on Chelsea With Audra on Young and the Restless?

Nothing that has aired says so. What has aired is Audra’s own wish for a baby, and that’s what the prediction borrows. Before she came to Genoa City, Audra miscarried the baby she was carrying with Noah Newman (Lucas Adams). In November 2022, she told him, “I lost the baby, and I lost you.”

On October 26, Sally assured Audra she would have a child of her own one day, and Audra said she was happy being an auntie with a career for now. On Friday she admitted motherhood was once her dream and now feels far off, since not everyone hits the jackpot Sally did.

This is the third time since April that predictions have handed Audra a baby, each with a different man: Noah first, then an old flame in October, now Adam. Not one came with a spoiler.

Chelsea Ranks First for Adam’s Next Baby, Audra Is a Long Shot and Sally Is Off the Board

Here’s how I rank the women in Adam Newman’s orbit for a baby twist. Chelsea is first: she’s the only woman he has asked and the one he loves. On May 26, then head writer Josh Griffith said Adam is “profoundly in love with Chelsea.” Audra is a distant second, only because the field is so small. She wants a child, but she has never shown Adam anything warmer than a warning.

Sally is off the board. She married Billy on October 19, Ruby is their daughter, and on Friday she told Adam a baby to heal his wound wouldn’t be fair. For the wider picture, see Genoa City’s baby boom.

Fans aren’t buying the pairing either. In Friday’s discussion on Reddit, one viewer wrote, “Adam should not be there. Audra gets it & even Sally is uncomfortable.” Another fan hopes “the new writers shut this down ASAP,” and a popular thread calls Adam a man living in fantasy land; its author can’t picture Chelsea wanting another child.

New co-head writers Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor take over Wednesday, November 11. On Thursday, “Victor shares a page from his playbook with Chelsea.” On Friday, Audra turns to someone from her past for a favor. And Melissa Claire Egan says, “There’s a lot of stuff coming up for Chelsea in 2027.” My gut says the new writers make Adam live with Chelsea’s no.
