TL;DR: B&B’s Bill Spencer keeps begging Katie to ease up on Forrester, and the only person who profits from a wounded Forrester staying alive is the man who wants to buy it.

Mercy Has Never Been His Brand

Bill Spencer has suddenly discovered family values, and anyone who has watched him for more than five minutes should be counting the silverware. This is the man who taught Katie Logan to go for the throat, who has a big investment in Logan to protect, and who now tells her that pounding a company already on its knees is a waste of resources. Nobody says that about an enemy they want buried. They say it about something they want to keep.

That is a shopping list wearing a halo. A dead company is worth nothing, but a bleeding one is on sale, and Eric Forrester has already admitted there may be no future for Forrester while Ridge Forrester tells his wife the company needs a miracle. Katie smells an agenda and can’t name it. She asked where this bizarre change of heart came from, and Bill answered with a speech about souls.

Here is what makes it delicious. Katie is convinced her sister has Bill by the reins. She grabbed his phone, spotted the stallion emoji, and accused him of going easy on Forrester because of Brooke Logan. What if she has the reins backwards, and Bill is the one steering both Logan sisters?

Brooke’s Living Room Is The Best Listening Post In L.A.

Brooke called Bill over for help and handed him a front-row seat to Forrester’s worst days. He has been a regular ever since, nodding sympathetically while she lists every wound Katie’s headlines have opened. She thanks him. She confides. She admits the company may not survive this war. Everything Bill needs to know about the target’s weak spots arrives with a side of gratitude, delivered by a woman who happens to be married to Ridge.

Donna Logan saw the problem coming. She warned Brooke she was playing with fire and that Bill could be merciless. Brooke brushed it off because she knows him better than anyone, which is exactly the kind of confidence Bill loves to see in a mark.

Ridge Has Never Been More Kickable

Ridge hates Bill, loudly and with feeling, which is why this plot has legs. Bill first came to L.A. determined to destroy Eric and Forrester Creations, has owned a version of the place before, and once signaled a helicopter pilot to drop Ridge into the Persian Gulf. Taking Forrester while Ridge begs the heavens for a miracle would be the ultimate victory lap. Picture the meeting: Brooke wishes for a miracle worker, and in strolls Bill Spencer with a contract and a smile.
