A Surfer, A Startle, And A Spencer

Darcy Dylan turned a nervous wait into a flirtation in record time. She was anxiously waiting at the beach house for news, ogling a surfer like it was her job, when Wyatt Spencer startled her. He was impressed that Will Spencer keeps bringing home so many beautiful women, and she set him straight that this is not who she is. Then she recognized him, and the Spencer superfan in her sat straight up.

Wyatt played it like a man who knows exactly what he is doing. He asked for an introduction, assumed Darcy was the sister of Melissa Dylan, and watched her glow, because nothing flatters a mother like being mistaken for her kid’s sibling. They chatted about the magic of L.A., she whispered that she expects little Missy to be Logan’s newest employee, and he told her not to get her hopes up. He even wondered why such a fun woman was alone.

Darcy’s pitch for the beach was really a pitch for herself. She breathed in the air, announced it beats sitting in her daughter’s little apartment, and invited Wyatt to take a dip with her. He said no, though he lingered through the whole conversation anyway. She then assured him she was not coming onto him, which, by long-standing soap law, means she was coming onto him, and she signed off with an “I should probably get going then” that sounded more like a hint than an exit. The preview backs her up, with Darcy declaring she is here to have fun and asking if he wants to come along.

Family Dinner Is About To Get Awkward

A Wyatt and Darcy romance would land squarely in Katie Logan’s lap, and she is the one person in L.A. guaranteed to have notes. Katie has been suspicious of Dylan for weeks, and this week she called her the Midwest version of Brooke Logan and accused her of playing Will. Darcy already told Katie to her face that she is not better than them. And Wyatt is no stranger in Katie’s story, because the two of them hooked up in the past.

Katie is already sure Dylan is working an angle, so imagine her face when Dylan’s mother starts working one on a Spencer too. Do the family math. Wyatt would be dating the mother of his brother’s girlfriend while his brother’s mother, his own former hookup, grinds her teeth across the table. Pass the gravy.

Wyatt Gets Crossed Off The List

The same meet cute that sets up a romance also rules out a paternity twist. Wyatt Spencer had to ask for an introduction, guessed Darcy was Dylan’s sister, and had no idea she was anyone’s mother. Nobody who shares a past with a woman greets her like that. So whatever new and hot thing this turns out to be, it is not a secret family reunion, and that knocks Wyatt Spencer out of the running as Dylan’s daddy before the question was even properly asked.

Who Is Dylan’s Daddy?

So if Wyatt Spencer is out, who is in? Darcy told Katie that Dylan’s father walked out when she was a kid, and that is all we know about him. Is he a man from the long list of cities Darcy rattled off for Deacon Sharpe? Or is he already on the canvas, because Deacon flirted with Darcy like a total stranger, which means he is either innocent or the best actor on the Bikini payroll? Or is a daddy about to walk through the door with a bouquet and a very bad excuse?
