The Teacher Thousands Called A Life Changer
Soap fans met him in Pine Valley, but thousands of aspiring performers met him in the classroom, where he worked as an acting teacher and mentor. Michele said his guidance changed lives, and that he brought the same warmth and humor to teaching that he brought everywhere else.
Within the world of All My Children, Sean Cudahy was a smooth-talking schemer, while his brother, Tom Cudahy, was the good guy of the family, portrayed by Richard Shoberg. Alan Dysert held the role from 1980 through 1990 and returned for several later stories.
He also shared his own life story in his autobiography and summed up his outlook with a thought worth carrying: “It’s been a great ride and I am grateful for every bit of it.” He hoped his loved ones, from his children and grandchildren to his friends, would honor his life with joy instead of sorrow. He is survived by Michele, by his sons Cooper and Cody, and by a community of students and friends.
