EILEEN DAVIDSON AND LISA RINNA ARE HEADING OFF-BROADWAY

_Eileen Davidson, who plays Ashley Abbott on Y&R, and DAYS alum Lisa Rinna are headed Off-Broadway for Neil Simon’s Rumors, with details from Michael Fairman TV and Soap Opera Digest. The twist is that the two soap vets will rotate through separate casts instead of sharing a stage._

Two Soap Vets, One Stage

Eileen Davidson has been serving scandal for decades, from Salem as Kristen DiMera to Genoa City as Ashley Abbotton Y&R, so a Neil Simon farce about a dinner party gone sideways is a perfect fit. The Rumors team announced Eileen Davidson in the second of two rotating casts, with a Real Housewives flavored lineup around her.

Lisa Rinna, a DAYS alum, leads the first company, which runs January 9 to February 28. Eileen Davidson steps in with the second cast from March 2 to April 21, so these two will never share a stage. Her lineup got its own poster too, with a tagline claiming reality was only rehearsal, and fans flooded the comments with flight-booking jokes. Think of it as a very glamorous relay race.

Rumors Sounds Suspiciously Like Daytime

The 1988 comedy drops four couples into a party that implodes once they find the host hurt, the hostess gone, and cops en route. That is basically a Tuesday in Genoa City, and Eileen has the resume to prove it.

Her castmates are already in the front row. Melissa Ordway declared it a Y&R field trip in the comments, and Lauralee Bell answered with a round of applause emojis. The husbands have not been cast yet, so daytime vets with great hair and bad intentions should start sharpening those headshots. You can grab seats starting Friday, October 30.

Break A Leg, You Two

However the casts shake out, Eileen Davidson and Lisa Rinna are proving daytime royalty never retires, it simply changes theaters.
