XANDER KIRIAKIS IS ALIVE AND THE FAKE DEATH PREDICTION HAS NO SPOILER BEHIND IT

TL;DR: Days of Our Lives spoilers: Xander Kiriakis survives George’s bullet. Jada Hunter questions him Thursday and Sarah Horton reunites with him Friday, so the prediction that Sarah fakes his death to destroy EJ has no spoiler behind it.

Xander Survives, and the Police Already Know

Is Xander dead on Days of Our Lives? No, and this week’s Days of Our Lives spoilers keep him very much alive and talking. Xander Kiriakis made it through surgery after taking a bullet meant for Sarah Horton, and he is still in critical condition. On Thursday, October 29, Jada Hunter questions him. On Friday, October 30, Sarah and Xander share an emotional reunion.

That is bad news for the juiciest prediction of the week. One columnist asked what would happen if Sarah faked Xander’s death and then demanded that EJ DiMera be charged with murder. No spoiler, promo or preview has Sarah doing anything of the kind. It is a what-if, and the show’s own calendar is already working against it.

How Sarah Ended Up at Xander’s Bedside

Our daily recaps laid out the bloodbath. On October 23, Sarah and Xander went into the DiMera lab after a laptop, and George O’Halloran pulled a gun and fired at her. Xander jumped in front of the bullet and shot George in the chest. On Monday, George staggered into EJ in a hallway, EJ kicked him and walked off as the sirens closed in, and George died. We broke down that hallway in our piece on EJ and George’s final scene.

At the hospital, Xander’s heart stopped and was restarted. Sarah begged him to stay alive for their daughter, and she told Jada that Xander jumped in front of a bullet that was meant for her. George pulled the trigger, but Sarah blames EJ for the shooting. Honestly, so do we.

Is Xander Dead on Days of Our Lives?

Not in any preview we can find. Every grid for the week puts Xander Kiriakis in scenes with the living. Maggie Kiriakis forgives him on Tuesday, Jada questions him on Thursday and Sarah reunites with him on Friday. Nothing for the first week of November says otherwise yet.

How the Fake Death Scheme Would Work

Here is the prediction in full, and it is pure DiMera playbook turned on a DiMera. Sarah lets Salem believe George’s bullet killed Xander. She demands EJ answer for it, which forces the police to dig into everything EJ ever did with George, from the tainted batch buried on Smith Island to the night in the lab. Meanwhile Xander, officially dead, slips around town hunting for that laptop.

The bait is real. EJ spent weeks lining George up to take the fall, Shawn Brady already told EJ not to leave town, and George’s last words to EJ were that the laptop was still in the lab. Nobody has said who has it now. If I were EJ, that missing laptop would keep me up at night.

Why the Previews Say It Will Not Happen This Week

The trouble is the witness list. A fake death needs a tiny circle of people in on it, and Sarah’s circle is already crowded. Jada heard the story from Sarah on Monday, and Maggie forgives Xander on Tuesday. Brady Black watched Sarah beg Xander not to leave her, and the two of them have a heart-to-heart on Thursday. By the time Jada sits down with Xander, the police commissioner has seen him breathing.

There is a second snag. George fired the gun, not EJ, so a murder charge would have to prove EJ sent him into that lab. A fake funeral would also hand EJ’s lawyers the easiest defense in Salem: there is no body, because there is no dead man.

What Sarah Could Do Instead

My gut tells me the writers want Sarah’s fury aimed at EJ without the coffin. A quieter version still works. Jada could keep Xander’s recovery out of the gossip mill, and Xander Kiriakis could stay out of EJ’s sight while he heals and works the laptop angle. Don’t be surprised if that Friday reunion turns into a partnership.

The pressure on EJ is coming from every side anyway. On Wednesday, Johnny DiMera faces down his father, and on Friday Chad DiMera refuses to be intimidated by EJ. The wider soap rumor mill will keep spinning the fake funeral idea, and we will be watching Friday for any sign of a plan.

Xander Lives, So Sarah Needs a Better Weapon Than a Fake Funeral

Our take: the fake death is a delicious prediction with one fatal flaw. Too many people have seen Xander Kiriakis alive this week, and the police commissioner is one of them. Sarah has every right to want EJ ruined. She just has better weapons than a coffin.

We would much rather see Sarah and Xander take EJ down in daylight, with that laptop as the smoking gun. Would you rather Sarah fake Xander’s death or fight EJ out loud? Tell us on our Facebook page.
