As of Nov. 2, 2026, Kara Leona Bass (90 Day Fiance season 9) and her 90 Day: Hunt for Love date, Josh “JT” Thompson, are not a couple, and TLC’s listing for Monday’s episode says Kara “turns her attention to Skyler after JT makes a misstep.” For anyone asking about Kara and JT, the honest answer is a few dates, one ugly rumor and a new man in the frame.

The rumor is the juicy part. JT says Emma Perry (90 Day: Before the 90 Days season 8) pulled him aside at the pool to ask about Kara supposedly spending late nights in Jamal’s room. Emma says JT brought it up first. Kara’s verdict: “Someone’s lying.” Here is who JT is, and where things stand.

Meet Josh ‘JT’ Thompson, the Former College Receiver

TV Insider’s Rebecca Perlmutter profiled him on Nov. 2. Josh Thompson, who goes by JT, is 27. He was born in Tampa, grew up in Garland, Texas, and now lives in Fort Lauderdale. He played wide receiver at Stephen F. Austin State University from 2017 to 2022.

His age gave Kara pause. She noted that her ex, Guillermo Rojer, is the same age. Then, on their first date, JT opened up about a hard childhood. “My mom struggled so f**king much,” he said. “We were homeless at one point, you know what I’m saying? We were living in our car.” He also got emotional about growing up without his dad.

The Hot Tub Date and the Spicy Content Question

TLC’s Oct. 12 synopsis said Kara was “torn between two men,” and TV Insider later named them as JT and Skyler. On Oct. 19, TLC promised Kara “tests her chemistry with JT,” and the hot tub delivered. In a clip Extra released Oct. 15, Kara told him one of her income streams is a “spicy” platform.

JT did not run, but he asked, “Would you, like, would you be upset at someone for, like, not being okay with it?” That is a loaded question to put to a woman whose husband objected to that same work on The Last Resort. By the Oct. 26 episode’s Sheet Talking, TLC’s listing said Chloe Fabiano put JT “in the hot seat” over the reveal.

Someone’s Lying: JT, Emma and the Talk at the Pool

On a group date, per TV Insider, JT said Emma “pulled me at the pool and she said, ‘Hey, I have something to talk to you about.'” According to JT, Emma asked how he felt about Kara “being in Jamal’s room at two/three in the morning all the time.” Kara and Jamal Menzies are franchise friends, and that is all anyone has shown.

Kara went straight to Emma and Jamal. Emma said JT was the one who raised the late-night chats first. Kara Leona Bass did not pick a side. “Someone’s lying, and if it is JT that’s lying, that’s a problem,” she said. “I don’t like people who are lying on women.”

Are Kara and JT Still Together?

They were never officially together. TV Insider says the two went on “a few dates” and that things were heating up, but nobody has called them a couple, on screen or off. CinemaBlend reported Oct. 28 that Kara “can’t officially comment on her dating status” while the season airs, and that nothing online points to a new serious relationship.

TLC’s synopses tell the story week by week. Oct. 12: “torn between two men.” Oct. 19: “tests her chemistry with JT.” Nov. 2: Kara “turns her attention to Skyler after JT makes a misstep.”

Here is the twist. The same day TV Insider introduced JT, TLC aired Kara Leona Bass looking at another man. TLC has not said what the misstep was, but reading between the lines, the pool story is the obvious suspect.

Skyler Steps In as Kara Weighs Her Options

Skyler has been in the picture since the second episode. TLC has shared little else about him, but we know Kara Leona Bass came to Puerto Rico after her split from Guillermo, telling Primetimer it “feels great to be able to just move in my own way and not be tethered to someone necessarily.”

That does not sound like a woman who will wait for a man to clear his name. Elsewhere at the resort, Razvan Ciocoi made his move on Iris as Steven Frend watched. The Nov. 9 listing skips Kara, JT and Skyler, so don’t be surprised if the answer comes later.

JT Fumbled, and Skyler Gets the Ball

JT came in with a story that made viewers root for him, then got tangled in somebody else’s gossip. Whether he or Emma is lying, Kara already drew her line: she does not like people “lying on women.” Skyler only has to stay out of the gossip.
