MONA WILSON NEVER CAME BACK TO JOEY’S POKER TABLE

TL;DR: Beyond the Gates fans watched Mona Wilson sit down in Joey Armstrong’s back room at the Lakeview Casino and beat him at his own game. That was August. Since then, nobody has touched a deck of cards in there. Joey uses the room to make out with Vanessa and yell at Randy, and Mona is nowhere to be found. The BTG spoilers are packed, so somebody deal Mona back in.

Mona Cleaned Him Out

Let’s go back to August. Mona Wilson walked into the back room at the Lakeview Casino and asked Joey Armstrongfor a round of poker. When Joey asked what she was playing for, she said, “Randy Parker’s soul.”

Then she beat him. Soundly. Joey said, “I’ll be damned,” and told her she could gamble with him anytime as long as she stopped trying to save his soul. Mona said it was probably too late for that, and she walked out.

Iconic. Absolutely iconic. And that was the last real poker game anybody has played in that room.

What Kind of Casino Is This?

Seriously, what goes on in that poker room? It’s not poker. Joey uses it as his personal office, his therapy couch, and his make-out spot.

He’s in there cozying up with Vanessa McBride, the widow who swears she didn’t start seeing Joey until after Doug McBride died. Deanna McBride doesn’t believe her for a second, and obviously we have been clued in since the beginning.

When Joey isn’t busy with Vanessa, he’s yelling at Randy Parker. Even Bill Hamilton stormed in there to demand answers about Hayley’s pregnancy and her ties to Randy.

That room has seen kissing, shouting, and threats. Cards? Not so much. Does Joey even own a deck anymore? Joey runs a casino, and the only person who’s actually gambled in his back room lately is Mona Wilson.

Mona Was Right About Randy

Here’s the part that stings. Mona went in there trying to get Joey to give Randy less dangerous work. She didn’t like the company Randy kept, and she thought he could do better.

She called it. Randy has been slipping cash to Hayley Lawson, helping her cook up a plan to sell Bill full custody of his own baby, and now insisting he won’t take the fall for her.

Randy’s soul was on the table, and Mona won the hand. Then she disappeared, and Randy went right back to the worst people in town.

And don’t forget, Mona was keeping an eye on Randy long before that poker game. Kat Richardson caught her watching him at Orphie Gene’s and asked about her “friend.” Mona swore there was nothing romantic going on.

Sure, Mona. A woman doesn’t bet on a man’s soul for nothing. Is Mona Wilson a little sweet on Randy? Because that would explain a lot, including why she’d want to come back and fight for him.

Mona saw this coming months ago. If she were around, she’d be telling Randy “I told you so” over coffee.

Should Mona come back and save Randy from himself? Tell us in the comments!

Deal Mona Back In

Mona has been gone so long, the dust on that poker table deserves its own storyline. And she isn’t the only one missing. Her old friend Jan Morgan needs her own Amber Alert.

Bring Mona Wilson back to that poker table. Let her take Joey’s money again, and let her drag Randy out by the collar. She’s the only person in town who has ever walked into that room and come out ahead.

Joey said she could gamble with him anytime. BTG, hold him to it. Put Mona at that table, put Randy in the chair across from her and let the cards fall where they may.
