Young and the Restless Spoilers: Chelsea Lawson Is Left Out of Billy Abbott’s Ruby Warning to Adam Newman
Young and the Restless spoilers: Chelsea Lawson walked in on Billy Abbott’s Ruby warning, and Adam Newman walked out. Will Sally tell her first?
CHELSEA LAWSON ASKED WHAT BILLY SAID ABOUT RUBY, ADAM WALKED OUT, AND SALLY MAY HEAR IT BEFORE SHE DOES
TL;DR: Young and the Restless spoilers: Billy warned Adam on Wednesday that Ruby is no replacement for Ava. Chelsea Lawson walked in, asked twice, and Adam walked out without a word. One preview says Sally may find out the week of November 9, and nobody says when Chelsea will.
Chelsea Walks In on Billy’s Warning, and Adam Walks Out
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) asked a simple question in her own home on Wednesday, and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) walked out rather than answer it. She had just missed Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) warning Adam to stay away from his baby daughter. Our Young and the Restless spoilers have Billy losing patience with Adam again on Friday, and nobody has told Chelsea a thing.
Billy had told Adam that Ruby is not a replacement for Ava, and that Adam is not welcome at Billy’s home unless invited. Chelsea walked in and asked, “What’s going on?” Billy said they were getting on the same page and left. Chelsea asked Adam, “Do I even want to know?” He walked out of the room without a word.
So does Chelsea hear it first from Sally? One preview for the week of November 9 says Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) may find out that Billy pushed Adam to back off Ruby. Nothing says when, or whether, Chelsea finds out. Our Wednesday day-ahead had Billy bringing house rules to Adam’s door, and Chelsea is still on the wrong side of it.

What Billy Told Adam About Ruby and Ava
Billy opened by thanking Adam again for delivering Ruby on October 20. Adam called him insecure because Adam had burped the baby while Billy was in London, and Billy shot back that he was at his mother’s deathbed. He called Adam’s bootie drop-off “an excuse to see Sally and Ruby.” Adam swore he would never hurt Ruby, and Billy’s answer stung: not intentionally.
Then Billy told Adam he knows what it is like to lose a daughter. Billy lost Delia in 2013 after a hit-and-run, and Adam confessed to him in January 2014 that he did it. Jason Thompson said in October: “Billy is always going to see Adam as the reason why Delia is no longer here.” That is the man who told Adam that protecting Ruby the way he couldn’t protect Ava won’t heal him.

Does Chelsea Find Out What Billy Told Adam on Young and the Restless?
Not yet, and no spoiler says when. Thursday’s episode, already aired in Canada, leaves out Adam, Billy and Chelsea, and CBS says only that on Friday, “Billy loses patience with Adam.” That leaves Chelsea Lawson where she has been for more than a week, hearing about Ruby from everybody but the man she lives with.
On October 27, Adam told Chelsea he’d had a meeting that morning, a morning he actually spent with Sally and Ruby. On November 2, she heard about his visits to Sally and Ruby from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) at breakfast. On Wednesday, she asked twice and got a closed door. On May 26, then head writer Josh Griffith described Adam’s thinking as “If I can protect this child because I couldn’t protect the child that I lost, I will.” Adam still couldn’t say that to Chelsea.
Sally Could Hear About Billy’s Warning Before Chelsea Does
The reporting points to Sally. The same preview says Sally may think Billy was too harsh, and the newlyweds may fight over Adam’s role in Ruby’s life. On October 29, Sally told Adam she wants him in Ruby’s life in whatever way she and Billy decide. On Wednesday, Billy did the deciding, and nothing on screen shows Sally knew he was going.
On Wednesday, a day after she walked out on Adam’s ask for another child, Chelsea told Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) she isn’t worried Ruby will pull Adam back to Sally. If Sally learns about Billy’s rule and goes looking for Adam, Chelsea Lawson could hear it from the one woman she says she isn’t worried about.
Our readers have picked a side. When we asked whether Billy was right to set boundaries, 19 of the first 23 readers to answer said yes. When we asked whether they feel sorry for Adam, most of the more than 200 who answered by Wednesday evening said no.

Who Else Could Tell Chelsea First
Sally isn’t the only candidate. Billy is Chelsea’s ex and Johnny’s father, and if he loses patience with Adam on Friday where Chelsea can hear it, the secret is out. Victor already told her once, after he had Adam followed. My gut says Chelsea Lawson hears about Billy’s rule from anyone but Adam, and that will sting more than the rule.
New co-head writers Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor have their first episode on Wednesday, November 11. If Chelsea is still in the dark by then, the baby fight becomes a trust fight.
Should Adam have told Chelsea the second Billy left, or was walking out the kinder choice? Make your case in the comments.

Chelsea Deserves to Hear It From Adam First
Billy was right to draw the line, and Adam was wrong to walk out on the woman he lives with. Three times since October 27, news about Ruby has reached Chelsea secondhand or not at all. If Sally gets there first, Adam loses more than an argument.
