Jack & Diane’s Fake First Day at the GCAC, Abbott Lake House MIA
At this point, the Young & the Restless may as well be renamed “We Beat the Dead Horse.” If Y&R fans got a dime for every minute that has been spent on the Abbott Estate “refresh,” all would be rich.
Smilin’ Jack Abbott is acting like Genoa City’s oldest baby & Diane Jenkins isn’t helping. Now Jack & Diane will “relax” at the Genoa City Athletic Club while their home is refreshed. How will taking up temporary residence where Victor Newman spends 1/3 of his time be relaxing for Jack & Diane? Why aren’t they staying at the Abbott Lake House?
Jack & Diane’s Fake Relaxation on Their GC Staycation
While almost every single Young & the Restless fan is on board with Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) plan to refresh the Abbott Estate, there are some questions about how relaxing she & Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) stay at the GCAC will be.
Aside from the apparent Chinese restaurant that soap opera fans have never seen in Genoa City & Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) Crimson Lights coffeehouse, the GCAC & Society are the only restaurants in town. Not only is the GCAC one of two restaurants in town, but it’s also the only reputable hotel in Genoa City. Ergo, this place is frequented by Genoa City’s most dramatic elite & many of them live there to boot. How is it possible that Diane thinks this staycation will be relaxing?
Diane Forgot About the Abbott Lake House & Brags
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) isn’t done with the Abbotts but Jack & Diane are apparently done with the Abbott Lake House. Diane most certainly has an agenda in staying at the GCAC with Jack when their home is being refreshed. Otherwise, why is it that their son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) & his son Harrison (Redding Munsell) get to stay at home during the refresh?
What about Aunt Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland)? Where’s the Abbott Estate’s newest tenant Dr. Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins)? Diane Jenkins has something up one of her black dress sleeves, but what is it?
Pending Encounters with GCAC Residents Explode
Not only does The Mustache spend at least a third of his time at the GCAC, but Diane’s arch nemesis Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) lives there. Phyllis hasn’t started her new job yet as her new boss Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is still in Paris with his new girlfriend Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) who is one of Phyllis’s nemeses who also lives at the GCAC. Phyllis will have plenty of time to stir whatever is in Diane’s pot downstairs in the dining room.
Speaking of Billy Abbott, he’s got something up his sleeve as well & it’s totally Newman-related even though he’s promised Jack, Phyllis, & Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) that Abbott Communications will totally be run above bar & will not at all be about competing with Newman Media or getting back somehow at Victor.
Jack & Diane’s staycation at the Genoa City Athletic Club is about to be anything but relaxing on Y&R.
