The Young and the Restless
ONE LAST FIGHT! Will Y&R’s Billy Abbott Push Jill Past The Point Of Return?
Billy Abbott wants Jill to start criticizing him again, but picking a fight with her right before her surgery could be the worst thing he does.
BILLY ABBOTT WANTS CLOSURE MORE THAN HE WANTS CALM
TL;DR: Billy Abbott told Cane he will know his mom is better the second she starts criticizing him again, and Cane warned him that picking a fight with her could be the worst thing he does, which on Young and the Restless puts a son hungry for closure beside a mother heading into surgery.

Billy Measures A Recovery In Insults
Billy Abbott told Cane Ashby in a London pub that he will know Jill Abbott is getting better the second she starts criticizing him again. That is a sweet way to say he is lining up a fight. Cane did not buy the sentiment, and he told Billy that getting into it with her might be the worst thing he could possibly do.
Cane went further and accused him of making this about himself and chasing closure. He stopped things before they got ugly, and Billy backed down, apologized, and admitted he has a history of making things about himself. He also reminded Cane that he has a new baby, a new wife, and a new start. It sounded like a promise, but the question is whether it survives a hospital door.

He Already Missed One Goodbye
Billy knows the clock is real. The family has been told Jill may not survive surgery, and Billy is flying in to be there. He already missed the window to say goodbye to his father, John Abbott, when he was dying, and he told Cane so. He does not want to miss another.
Sally Spectra sent him with something better than a fight. Jill has a new granddaughter, and Sally told Billy he could bring her the news and the two of them might find some peace. Jack Abbott told him going is the right move, so he never has to wonder what he should have done. Billy Abbott has a perfect peace offering, and a peace offering needs a quiet room.
Billy did not want Jill at his wedding because of all the tension between them, and when she could not come, the worry arrived anyway. He wants closure, and the easiest way for him to feel closure is to hear her bark at him. That is a problem if a bark turns into an argument.

Cane Cannot Guard Every Door
Billy has had the best week of his life, with a wedding, a baby girl, and a wife who ordered him to pack a bag. He left them anyway, which tells you exactly how much Jill still matters. Cane told him as much the night of the wedding, when he said he loves Jill and can be with her, but he is not her son. Billy has to make his own call.
Cane flew in first and can step in at a pub table. The bedside is different, because there is no pub, no drinks, and nobody to step between a mother and her loud son. Billy has a talent for walking in at the worst moment. Monday’s spoilers have him interrupting Victoria Newman and Kyle Abbott on their romantic getaway, and that is a man who cannot leave a door unknocked.
If Billy Abbott gets even one scrap of the old Jill back, he may take it as permission to say everything he has been holding. One sharp remark from her bed could pull a lifetime of old grievances into the room, and a patient heading into surgery cannot afford an argument about who hurt whom first. Jill needs calm. Billy wants the last word. He might get both, and he might have to pick.
