This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead catches Adam Newman playing midwife for Sally Spectra while Billy Abbott gets worrying news about Jill.
ADAM DELIVERS SALLY’S BABY IN THIS Y&R CANADIAN DAY-AHEAD
TL;DR: This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead has Adam Newman stepping in as an emergency midwife for Sally Spectra while Billy Abbott takes a phone call about Jill Abbott that no groom wants to get on his wedding day. Cane Ashby and Lily Winters lean on each other, the reception starts asking where everyone went, and Nick Newman announces Matt Clark is “safely put away” while Sharon Newman keeps thinking. Want the bigger picture? Our Y&R spoilers for the next two weeks have it all.

Adam Newman Becomes the Wedding’s Emergency Midwife
This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead opens with a bride who is not going back downstairs. Sally Spectra is in her bridal suite when her water breaks, and her contractions pick up so fast that a trip to the hospital is off the table. The only other person in the room is Adam Newman, who is ready to run for the groom, but Sally doesn’t think there’s time. Billy made it very clear he didn’t want Adam at this wedding. Adam is about to get the best seat in the house for the part Billy misses.
He tries calling Billy Abbott, and Billy doesn’t answer. He asks where Sally’s phone is, and she tells him Audra Charles took it, which is the exact moment a no-phones policy stops looking like a good idea. The house phone has no dial tone either, so Adam goes with the oldest technology available and starts yelling for help down the hall. The yelling does not summon a medical professional.
Then his own phone dies, and Sally gives it to him straight: he’s delivering this baby. He has done it twice before, a skill nobody puts on a résumé but one that apparently keeps coming in handy in Genoa City. She tells him this is not a repeat of the baby they lost, so neither of them needs to be scared, and Adam promises her the baby will be perfect and healthy. Sally grips his hand and pushes, and a little girl arrives. Adam places her in her mother’s arms, and Sally has one request: go get Billy.
Billy, it turns out, already knows something is up. Adam lets him in, Billy rushes to his wife, and Sally introduces him to his daughter. The man who wouldn’t shake Adam’s hand at the reception now has a lot to think about.

Billy Abbott Takes the Call From London
Downstairs, the party has no idea. In the foyer, Billy and Cane Ashby are on a call with Snapper, and the news is the kind that stops a room: Jill Abbott has had a heart attack. Snapper isn’t sure she can survive surgery. Cane asks him to hold the phone to Jill’s ear in case this is goodbye, and he tells her they’re at the reception, that it’s beautiful, that they miss her, and that she needs to rest and do what the doctors say. They all love her. Billy wipes his eyes. When Adam’s call lights up his screen, he ignores it, a detail he will think about later.
Billy asks how this can be happening to Jill. Cane reminds him she has had health trouble for years and figures Billy is so rattled because he can’t control any of it. They may need to prepare for the worst. Cane is heading to London to be with her, and he asks Billy to come too. Both of them know Jill could die before she ever meets her grandchild.
Billy doesn’t know what to do. He once missed his chance to say goodbye to his father while he was dying. Cane calls his own father terrible, yet he was there at the end anyway, because he wanted the man to leave this world knowing he was loved. Cane can sit at Jill’s bedside, but he isn’t her son, and he tells Billy this choice has to be his. Billy is sure Sally will know what to do. Sally, for the record, has a very full plate upstairs.

The Reception Wonders Where Everyone Went
In the club, Diane Jenkins, Ashley Abbott, and Traci Abbott admire the cake while Diane confesses how much she loves weddings. Jack Abbott tells them the appetizers are upstairs and that Pietro won’t let anyone down. The talk drifts to the surprising friendship between Chelsea Lawson and Sally, and then to the obvious question: where are the bride and groom? Ashley is waiting for the other shoe to drop, because events like this always scream drama. The shoe is about to drop. It is a very small shoe.
Across the room, Shirley Spectra, Coco Spectra, Chelsea, and Audra gush about how stunning Sally looked, and Shirley wants a closer look at the groom herself. Chelsea says Sally is a great soul and she’s grateful to call her a friend. Shirley hands out her review of Sally’s men: Adam was no great shakes, but Billy has potential. She says this while Adam is doing the Spectra family a very big favor. Then somebody notices the bride, the groom, and Adam are all missing, and the worry sets in.
Billy walks in looking for his bride, and nobody knows where she is. Jack pulls his brother aside, and Billy asks him not to freak out before telling him that Jill has had a heart attack and could be dying. Audra tells Billy his bride went upstairs, but he is stopped before he can go to her. He says there’s a situation and hurries out. Chelsea catches him on the way to ask if he’s seen Adam, and Billy says Adam keeps calling and he has been letting it ring. If only he had picked up. Jack gives his wife and sisters the news that Jill may not recover.
Cane and Lily Hold Each Other Up
Cane takes Lily Winters aside, and she can tell he’s upset before he says a word. She assumes it’s Jill and urges him to go, but Cane’s mind is on something else: she would have to get her test results without him. Lily tells him Jill needs him right now, and the tests will take time whatever he does. They hug, and Traci comes over to share their worries. For a couple who have been through this much, they keep proving they are the best thing in this entire reception, cake included.

Nick Newman Wants Sharon Done With Matt Clark
Over at the cottage, Sharon Newman tells Mariah Copeland that Nick Newman took Matt Clark to the clinic. Mariah is appalled that Matt asked Sharon to be his therapist, and she hopes he didn’t land at her own clinic, which is the most reasonable hope anyone has had all week. They go back and forth about whether Matt truly wants to heal, and Sharon argues he needs someone who will hold him accountable. In her view, the only way anyone can breathe freely is if he is contained or reformed, and Nick may not like it, but he has to accept it.
Nick arrives and announces that Matt is “safely put away.” Matt checked himself in, and Nick calls it a piece of cake. Sharon will touch base with the staff, who still don’t think she should be involved. Mariah and Nick both plead with her to think it over, and she promises she will. Mariah takes off.
With Mariah gone, Sharon asks what Nick plans to do next. He wants to check on Marie Kirkland, but Sharon thinks his day has been heavy enough. He tells her about the assault charge from the dealer, and about all the lives Matt ruined with his own dealing, then begs her to cut ties so they can forget Matt and move on with their lives. He thinks she is overestimating what she can handle and being masochistic. She accuses him of worrying about things that haven’t happened. Sharon wants to drop it for now, and Nick can’t. He reminds her how upset their son will be if he finds out she is helping Matt. It is a terrible idea. Sharon understands his point, which is not at all the same thing as agreeing with it.

Tuesday Packs a Lot Into One Reception
One reception, one baby, and one phone call from London. Billy’s wedding night has far more moving parts than anyone planned for, and Adam ends up at the center of its biggest moment. Whether Billy follows Cane to London is the question hanging over the cake, and back at the cottage, Sharon is still thinking.
