Honoring a Legend! Adrienne Frantz Shares A Beautiful Passage From The Late Jeanne Cooper
Adrienne Frantz honored the Y&R icon Jeanne Cooper by sharing a heartfelt passage she wrote about purpose, curiosity, and self-esteem.
ADRIENNE FRANTZ SHARES A BEAUTIFUL PASSAGE FROM JEANNE COOPER
TL;DR: Adrienne Frantz marked what would have been Jeanne Cooperโs 98th birthday with a heartfelt message and a page of the Y&R iconโs own writing about purpose, curiosity, and self-esteem. Fans who adored Katherine Chancellor will want to read every word.

A Birthday Tribute From A Dear Friend
Genoa Cityโs matriarch would have turned 98, and Adrienne Frantz honored the milestone in the sweetest way possible. The actress, who played Amber Moore on Young and the Restless and Bold and the Beautiful, shared a love letter to her โbestie,โ Jeanne Cooper, the legend behind Katherine Chancellor.
Adrienne says the two were five decades apart in age but felt like contemporaries whenever they got together. She remembers an afternoon when Jeanne asked whether she had ever seen Lena Horne perform at the Ambassador. Adrienne reminded her that she was a touch younger than Jeanne, and the pair collapsed into giggles. That laugh, she says, is what she misses most.

Words She Lives By
Adrienne ended her message by saying she lives by Jeanneโs words every day, and the post backs that up with a page of Jeanneโs own writing. Here is what Jeanne Cooper wrote, in full:
I wish someone would have told me how difficult it is and how glorious it is to realize youโre just a brief moment in time. You can make that moment last by your identity and finding yourself. Find yourself and live in your own skin. Move with authority. Never lose your self-esteem. This propels you forward. It gives you purpose. You canโt just stand in the middle of the earth and go around and around. You must find a purpose. You must give up some of yourself to something, to volunteering. To whatever. Thatโs youโre survival instinct. You must have a curiosity. You must wonder what the next day will be. What can you learn? What donโt you know? You change with the Earth.
It reads like a pep talk from a woman who never let herself coast. The message is to find yourself, protect your self-esteem, give a piece of your time to something bigger, and stay curious about what tomorrow might teach you.
Katherine Chancellor never went around in circles, and neither did the actress who played her. Jeanne Cooper gave the show nearly four decades of unforgettable storylines and won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2008.
Adrienne got to share some of that magic on screen. Amber Moore arrived in Genoa City in 2006 and became one of Katherineโs dearest friends, so close that Katherine became an ordained minister to marry Amber and Michael Graziadeiโs Daniel Romalotti. When Genoa City said goodbye to Katherine in 2013, Adrienne returned for the memorial service.
