Fareed Ward is joining Y&R as Dr. Andrew Bishop, and Nate and Stephanie are about to have a very interested new colleague.
FAREED WARD JOINS Y&R AS DR. ANDREW BISHOP
Fareed Ward is joining Y&R as Dr. Andrew Bishop, a new doctor on the Genoa City canvas, in an exclusive first reported by TV Insider. Ward debuts in November.

Young and the Restless Comings & Goings
The hospital in Genoa City is about to get a new face in the hallway, because Fareed Ward is pulling on the scrubs as Andrew Bishop. Dr. Bishop is a colleague of Nate Hastings, played by Sean Dominic, and Stephanie Simmons, played by Vivica A. Fox, who is chief of staff at Genoa City Memorial Hospital. Ward debuts in November, but no air date, storyline, or backstory for the doctor has been shared. A fresh set of hands is either welcome help or a complication waiting to be written.
What do you think Dr. Bishop is hiding, if anything? Email your theories to amber@soapoperamagazine.com, because we want every wild one.
Nateโs Comeback Gets A New Colleague
Nate has had a long road back to the operating room. An October 2020 injury from his fight with Devon Winters, played by Bryton James, sidelined his surgical career, and he recently returned to medicine after surgery. Lily then fired him from his job so he could go back to being a surgeon full time. The weekly spoilers even have Nate and Stephanie going public on Friday, October 30, so the newcomer may be walking into a workplace romance with the whole hallway watching.
Ward first showed up on TV in 2002 on Will & Grace and has since landed credits including CIA, FBI, S.W.A.T., and Graveyard. Soap fans may remember him as Larry on All My Children in February 2010, so this is not his first trip to daytime.
Doctorโs Orders, Genoa City
Whatever Dr. Bishop is carrying in that medical bag, Fareed Ward is joining a hospital that already runs on gossip, and the staff lounge is about to get a lot more interesting.
