Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Gabi Hernandez Comforts Philip Kiriakis as a Gambling Relapse Rumor Unravels
Days of Our Lives spoilers: Philip Kiriakis gets comfort from Gabi on October 27. Is he gambling again? Not on the record, and here is why.
PHILIP KIRIAKIS NEEDS GABI ON TUESDAY, BUT NOT FOR THE REASON THE RUMOR SAYS
TL;DR: Days of Our Lives spoilers have Gabi Hernandez comforting Philip Kiriakis on October 27. One preview guessed gambling, but no preview says he is betting again, and the newest one points to Xander’s shooting.
The Gambling Guess Has One Source, and It Is a Hedge
Is Philip Kiriakis gambling again? Nothing on the record says so. The Days of Our Lives spoilers for Tuesday, October 27, put Gabi Hernandez at his side to comfort him, and nearly every preview grid uses that word. The only gambling line for Tuesday came from one preview writer who guessed Gabi might confront him, “likely over his gambling.” That same column’s day by day list says only that Gabi questions him.
The newest preview tells a different story. It has Philip worrying about his brother, Xander Kiriakis, who took a bullet meant for Sarah Horton on Friday, and Gabi comforting him. That is a writer’s read of the week, not an official synopsis. Still, it is the only cause anyone has tied to Tuesday.
As our daily recaps show, Philip has been tested twice this month and walked away both times. On October 6 an email invited him to a poker game, and after a moment’s hesitation he deleted it. On October 14, Gwen Rizczech pushed poker, then strip poker, at the Salem Inn. Philip turned her down because his girlfriend would not approve. One recapper called him sorely tempted, but he said no.
That same day, Gabi told Leo Stark she would rather let the Gabi Chic counterfeiters get away than risk Philip relapsing. Leo had asked Philip to help him follow the money, which was Philip’s own advice back on September 29. The soap rumor mill has been waiting for a slip ever since.

Every Time Philip Gambled, Somebody Else Paid
The history explains why Gabi is so jumpy. As a teenager, Philip Kiriakis gambled for quick cash, ended up owing a bookie who had him roughed up, and his father paid the debt. When he came home in 2020, he owed the Vitali family a gambling debt and was laundering money through Titan to cover it, until his father smoothed things over.
Then came 2026. After EJ DiMera called in the Titan loan on August 6, Philip pitched a high stakes poker game. Gabi learned about his gambling addiction and paid his buy-in anyway, then posed as his fiancee in Monte Carlo wearing Maggie Kiriakis‘s ring. He beat Dante Vitali at the table on September 14, then put everything on 18, his late father’s birthday, the next day. He won.
On September 22, Maggie was furious that Philip had relapsed and said she could no longer trust him. He swore he would go to meetings, told Kate Roberts it was one and done, and later sat alone on a park bench twirling a poker chip. Titan was saved when he handed EJ a check on October 1, but the trust bill is still open. Our look at the Gabi Chic counterfeit chase shows why that money trail still worries everyone who loves him.
Is Philip Gambling Again on Days of Our Lives?
Not on screen, and not in any preview grid. The last bet we saw Philip Kiriakis place was the roulette spin on September 15. Since then he has deleted one poker invitation and turned down Gwen’s game, and the Tuesday listings say Gabi comforts him, not that she catches him.
Here is what nobody else has lined up. The single gambling mention for Tuesday is a hedge, the same column lists the scene as Gabi questioning him, and that outlet’s own Tuesday preview has since moved on to Xander. A scare like that can send a man back to an old crutch, or into the arms of the woman guarding him from it.

Three Things Could Be Weighing on Philip
First, Xander. His brother took a bullet for Sarah, and Philip has spent this whole year fighting beside him for Titan and the house. If that is what breaks him down, Gabi’s comfort is exactly what it sounds like.
Second, a relapse. Could the money trail Leo started have pulled Philip back toward his old gambling contacts? He promised Gabi he would not gamble if he reached out to that world. Nothing shows him breaking it, but if I know these writers, the temptation has not left town.
Third, a secret he is carrying for someone else. Philip saw the muscle relaxants in Joy Wesley‘s package on October 21 and pushed her to tell her family about her paralysis. Is that weighing on him too? My gut says Philip Kiriakis leans on Gabi because of Xander, and the gambling scare is a subplot still waiting for its moment.

Gabi Is Guarding Philip From His Worst Habit
Our take: Tuesday is about Xander, and Philip needs Gabi more than a card table. She has spent two months standing between him and his worst habit, and this is where that loyalty pays off.
The relapse rumor is not dead, though. Leo’s money trail is still open, and that is exactly where Philip’s old world lives. Team Comfort or Team Confrontation? Pick yours on our Facebook page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Philip and Gabi engaged on Days of Our Lives?
No. Gabi posed as Philip’s fiancee for the Monte Carlo poker game, wearing a borrowed ring from Maggie, and that fake engagement ended on September 25, 2026, when he asked for the ring back. The two agreed to give their relationship another shot and have been back together ever since.
Are Philip and Xander brothers on Days of Our Lives?
Yes. Philip and Xander Kiriakis are half brothers, both sons of the late Victor Kiriakis, and the show revealed Xander’s paternity in July 2024. Xander took a bullet meant for Sarah Horton on October 23, 2026, and Gabi comforts Philip four days later, on October 27.
