Y&R Spoilers: Does Cane Propose to Lily Again? Cancer Scare Spoilers for Late October
Young and the Restless: does Cane propose to Lily again? Cane Ashby said he’d marry her before she told him her cancer may have come back.
CANE ASHBY COULD PROPOSE TO LILY WINTERS AGAIN, AND HE SAID HE’D MARRY HER BEFORE HE KNEW ABOUT HER CANCER SCARE
TL;DR: Does Cane propose to Lily again? Our bet is yes, and it’s love, not panic: Cane Ashby said he’d marry her again tomorrow five days before she told him her cancer may have come back. Spoilers hint he could ask at Billy and Sally’s wedding or in late October, nothing official yet, and history says Lily says yes.
Spoilers Hint at a Proposal, and Cane Talked Marriage Before Lily Told Him
Young and the Restless spoilers have fans asking one question about Lily Winters and Cane Ashby: does Cane propose to Lily again? My bet is he asks, she says yes, and the calendar says it’s love, not panic. On Thursday, October 8, at the bachelor party for Billy Abbott, Cane told Jack Abbott he’d marry Lily again tomorrow if she’d have him. Spoilers hint he could ask at Billy’s wedding to Sally Spectra, which runs Friday, October 16 to Monday, October 19, or in the last week of October.
He said that five days before he knew about her cancer scare. On Tuesday, October 13, Lily finally told him at Society: “My cancer may have come back.” Cane took her in his arms, promised to come to her appointments, said that whatever happens they go through it together, and told her, “I love you so much.”
Nothing official confirms a proposal yet, and Lily is still waiting on more tests after her biopsy came back inconclusive. Keep our two weeks of Young and the Restless spoilers close, because Lily and Cane are both on the wedding guest list.
Should Cane propose now, or wait for Lily’s results? Write to our editor at amber@soapoperamagazine.com and tell us why.

Lily Kept Her Secret Because She Didn’t Want Their Lives to Change
Lily carried this for weeks. She went to Chicago for a biopsy in September and told her cousin, Nate Hastings, first. Hours before she told Cane, she confessed to Nate: “I don’t want this to ruin anything. I don’t want our lives to change.” Nate pushed her to tell Cane, and she did.
Some early spoilers had Lily confessing in late October, but it aired two weeks sooner. She apologized for keeping Cane in the dark and felt a weight lift once he knew. That’s why a ring is so loaded now: Lily kept quiet to protect what they have, and a proposal changes everything.

Lily Has Said Yes to Cane Ashby Five Times
History is on Cane’s side. He has asked Lily to marry him at least six times since 2008, and she has said yes five times. She married him for the first time on Friday, May 15, 2009. They divorced in 2011, and after he proposed on a park bench on Friday, February 3, 2012, they remarried in France on Valentine’s Day.
On Thursday, February 1, 2018, he asked her to marry him all over again, and they renewed their vows at home with their twins on Valentine’s Day. In 2012 and again in 2018, a February proposal became a Valentine’s Day ceremony inside two weeks. Their second marriage ended after Lily told him, “You have to let me go,” and the divorce was final on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.
The Last Time Cancer Came for Lily, She Said Her Vows to Cane Anyway
Cane’s identity fraud split them up in July 2009, weeks after their wedding. On Monday, July 20, 2009, Lily learned she had ovarian cancer. On Thursday, October 15, 2009, in the middle of her fight, she told Cane she couldn’t guarantee him a future even if she survived. Then, in the church where they married, he recited his wedding vows and she said hers right back.
Her cancer came back in 2010. Their twins were born to a surrogate on Friday, June 25, 2010, and she was in remission by late August 2010. That is the woman Cane Ashby fell for twice, the one who promised him forever when she couldn’t promise herself tomorrow.

Is Lily’s cancer back on Young and the Restless?
Nobody knows yet, Lily included. Her Chicago biopsy came back inconclusive on Friday, October 9, and as of Tuesday, October 13 she’s waiting on more tests. No result date has aired or been announced. Executive producer Sally McDonald’s fall tease still hangs over the couple: a secret from Lily’s past “may put the brakes on a future together.”
Lily’s Answer Could Be Yes, Not Yet or Not Like This
If Cane asks, history says yes, and his promise to face this together already sounds like a vow. She could also say yes and move fast, the way they did in 2012 and 2018. Cane’s own word was tomorrow.
The other answer is not yet. The woman who didn’t want her life to change may want her results before a ring, since a proposal before the tests could look like a promise made in fear. A flat no is the long shot, because she just pulled him closer. Or Cane waits, since proposing at someone else’s wedding is a hard sell.
My gut tells me Cane Ashby asks before Halloween, and Lily says yes with her heart while her head asks him to wait for the results.
Would you say yes to Cane before the results come back? Leave your answer in the comments.

Cane Is Ready to Propose, and Lily May Want Her Results First
Cane settled the love or panic question on October 8, before he knew anything. Lily has said yes to him five times and said her vows to him in the middle of her last cancer fight. The only catch is timing, and I’m betting the ring waits for the results.
