DANTE FALCONERI BAKES WITH ELIZABETH WEBBER IN HALLOWEEN WEEK, THEN FRIDAY LEAVES THEM BOTH SHAKEN

TL;DR: Dante Falconeri bakes Elizabeth’s Halloween cupcakes this week, and on Friday, October 30, the two of them are shaken. It is the second time Dante has come to Liz’s rescue at home. The first time, Ric walked in with an engagement ring.

Dante Reports for Duty in Elizabeth’s Kitchen

Dante and Elizabeth are turning up the oven on General Hospital. During Halloween week, Dante Falconeri reports for duty in Elizabeth Webber‘s kitchen to bake the cupcakes she owes the GH staff Halloween party. Then on Friday, October 30, the pair are shaken. Nobody has said what rattles them, and no spoiler puts Ric Lansing anywhere near that kitchen.

The cupcakes come with a heartache. On Friday, October 23, Liz told Dante that her youngest, Aiden Spencer, had secretly earned his GED and won a scholarship to a pastry school in Paris. He leaves in four days. Dante told her she just isn’t ready to be an empty nester, and when she groaned about the party cupcakes, he confessed to secret baking skills and offered to help.

She said yes. A first look photo caption for the week says the two have slowly been growing closer for months, then asks if sweet treats will make them realize they might be sweet on each other. That is a tease, not a promise.

Ric Already Walked In on This Once

Here is what nobody else is saying. It is the second time Liz has needed a hand at home and Dante has shown up, and the first time ended with Ric at the window. On Wednesday, August 19, Ric showed Sonny the engagement ring and said he did not want to lose Liz to another man. Dante had offered to help her build a bookcase after his softball game, hurt his knee, and Liz had him drop his pants so she could check it.

Ric arrived with red roses and the ring, ready to propose, peeked through the window and saw a half-naked Dante on her couch. The next day he handed over the flowers and stormed out. Liz admitted his insecurities have always been a problem for them.

Then Ric went to Lulu Spencer and warned that if they did not break the connection growing between Liz and Dante, they would lose the loves of their lives. Dante, for the record, told Liz to give Ric a chance. We saw that spiral coming when Elizabeth leaned on Dante all summer.

Are Dante and Elizabeth Getting Together on General Hospital?

Not yet, and nothing confirmed says they will. As of October 23, Liz is still dating Ric, and no kiss has aired. But the pattern is hard to miss. On Friday, October 16, Ric texted Liz that something came up and skipped the GH staff mixer at the Brown Dog to hear Lulu out, then offered to fight Willow’s libel suit for her. Liz went anyway, and Dante walked in.

So the man who recruited Lulu to keep Liz and Dante apart is now Lulu’s lawyer. Lulu is the reason he stood Liz up, and Liz ended up at the Brown Dog with Dante Falconeri instead.

The man playing Dante sounds ready for it. Dominic Zamprogna said on Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson’s podcast, That’s Awesome, that he was happy to hear the triangle was with Ric, and that “the buildup is what’s the fun part.” Cupcakes are buildup.

Dante’s Week Runs Through Gio, Lulu and Liz

Look at Dante Falconeri’s calendar. On Tuesday, October 27, he worries that Gio Palmieri is headed for heartbreak, after Gio walked out on Sonny over Pentonville. On Wednesday he defends Lulu, Ric’s own client. On Thursday Ric makes a request of Alexis Davis, and nobody has said what it is.

Then Friday, Dante and Liz are shaken, and nobody has said why. Maybe the baking goes further than either of them planned. Don’t be surprised if Ric walks in on the wrong moment again, the way he did in August. Or the jolt comes from outside the kitchen: Friday also leaves Trina and Emma alarmed, and Emma is the girlfriend Gio is moving in with.

Ric Is Running Out of Room

My gut says Dante Falconeri is not chasing anybody. He keeps showing up because Ric keeps not showing up. A bookcase, a mixer, a batch of cupcakes: every time Liz needs someone, the same man is standing in her doorway, and it is never the one with the ring.

Liz just watched her last boy pack for Paris. She is about to have a quiet house and time to think. If Ric wants to keep her, he had better close Lulu’s file and get home before the frosting sets.

Is Ric about to lose Liz to Dante, or is this just a sweet friendship? Make your call in the comments section.

Ric Lansing Left the Kitchen Door Wide Open

Team Dante says he is the steady man Liz deserves, the one who shows up with an apron and asks for nothing. Team Ric says she chose Ric on Valentine’s Day, and a jealous man still beats a friend who stays a friend.

Either way, Friday shakes them both, and no spoiler has put Ric in the room. Pick your team on our Facebook page.
