CODY BELL TELLS MOLLY LANSING-DAVIS TO STOP HIDING BEHIND HER FAMILY AS EXIT QUESTIONS SWIRL AROUND KRISTEN VAGANOS AND JOSH KELLY

TL;DR: On Thursday, October 22, Molly Lansing-Davis tells Cody about her Chicago job offer, and he tells her to stop using the people who care about her as an excuse. Nobody has confirmed that Kristen Vaganos or Josh Kelly is leaving, and the show just booked Thanksgiving.

Cody Tells Molly to Stop Hiding Behind Her Family

Is Molly leaving General Hospital? That question took over Port Charles on Wednesday, and Thursday turns up the heat. At the Quartermaine stables, Molly Lansing-Davis finally tells Cody Bell about the Chicago job offer she has been sitting on, and he does not beg her to stay. “Stop using people who care about you as an excuse,” he tells her.

That is the twist nobody saw in the cards. Cody isn’t holding her back. He is pushing her toward the door, frustrated that she always puts everyone else first. The real question is whether he plans to walk through it with her.

Here is what actually aired. On Wednesday, October 21, Molly told her mother, Alexis Davis, that a top Chicago law firm wants her to practice civil law, her dream job. She is torn about leaving Alexis, her niece Scout Cain, and Cody. Alexis told her Cody would go with her if he wanted to and urged her to talk to him. We broke down what the offer could do to the couple before it aired, and every beat is in our October 21 recap.

What the Contracts Say About Kristen Vaganos and Josh Kelly

Nothing is confirmed. ABC, the producers and both actors have said nothing about an exit. One soap columnist asked the question outright on Wednesday, and circulating spoiler chatter now calls it a possible double departure without a single source behind it.

The paper trail tells a different story for each actor. Kristen Vaganos took over the role in September 2023 and moved to contract in August 2024, so she is the one with a deal on the line. Josh Kelly has played Cody since June 2022 and dropped to recurring in 2025 at his own request. He said he wanted “a little more flexibility” and that he wants to stay on the show forever.

Reading between the lines, that matters. A recurring Cody could move to Chicago on screen and still turn up in Port Charles whenever the story needs him. And our fall preview coverage flagged the head writers’ hint that Molly taking her shot could mean saying goodbye to Cody. That sounds like a choice between them, not a joint farewell.

Is Molly Leaving General Hospital in 2026?

Not as of today. No exit has been announced for Molly Lansing-Davis, and the show just handed her a holiday to get through first. On Wednesday, Cody asked Tracy Quartermaine for Thanksgiving off. She refused because she needs him for whatever disaster comes next, then gave in when he said he and Molly would spend the day with their families.

Look at what else Cody was doing Wednesday. He was building bookshelves for Alexis’s law office and promising her that he and Molly would handle Thanksgiving dinner. Those are roots, not goodbyes. My gut tells me any Chicago move waits until after the turkey, and the holiday table is where the family finds out.

Who Molly Would Leave Behind

Fans are already doing the math. “Please don’t let Molly leave too! Who’s next Alexis??” one fan posted on X, while another asked whether the show is “getting rid of all the Davis girls.”

The worry has history behind it. Sam McCall died in 2024, and Kristina Corinthos-Davis left for medical school in June.

If Molly goes, Alexis has no daughter left in Port Charles, and Scout loses an aunt. Cody would have to weigh Molly against everything he built here: Tracy’s barn and Mac Scorpio, the father he found in 2023.

That is the bind. Molly Lansing-Davis spent this summer putting her career second, canceling her book tour for the Sidwell case and getting nothing back. Now Cody is telling her to stop. Keep our two-week General Hospital spoilers handy, because the answer is coming.

Three Ways the Chicago Offer Plays Out

Molly goes alone. She takes the job, Cody stays with Tracy and the horses, and the couple ends in a tearful goodbye. Soaps love a sacrifice, and Cody’s speech sounds like a man ready to let her go.

Molly and Cody go together. Alexis said it herself: Cody would go if he wanted to. If I know these writers, that is the romantic exit, but nobody has confirmed either actor is leaving.

Nobody goes. Molly turns the offer down, and it becomes a test the couple passes. Don’t be surprised if Molly Lansing-Davis saves her answer for Alexis’s Thanksgiving table either way.

Cody Bell Just Handed Molly Her Ticket Out of Port Charles

Our take: nobody is packing up a dressing room yet. Until ABC or the actors say otherwise, this is a story about a woman finally choosing herself and a boyfriend brave enough to tell her to.
