WITH HOLDEN NOVAK OFF SCREEN SINCE AUGUST, NOBODY STANDS BETWEEN CLAIRE AND AUDRA

TL;DR: Young and the Restless spoilers: Claire Newman sets boundaries with Audra Charles on Wednesday, October 28. What is Audra pushing on, and does Holden’s absence play into it? Holden pulled them apart in their last two brawls, and he hasn’t been seen since August. CBS hasn’t said what the line covers.

Claire Sets Boundaries With Audra on Wednesday

Claire Newman sets boundaries with Audra Charles on Wednesday, October 28, and CBS hasn’t said what the line covers. So what is Audra pushing on, and does Holden Novak‘s absence play into it? Keep our Young and the Restless spoilers for the next two weeks handy, because Canada sees the scene a day early, on Tuesday.

That one line, “Claire sets boundaries with Audra,” is all CBS has released, and Claire hasn’t been on screen since October 9. It lands in a loaded week, as our week-ahead spoilers lay out. On Monday, “Sally makes a confession to Audra,” and on Friday, “Nate and Stephanie go public.”

Audra’s own week is already tense. On Friday, October 23, at Society, she needled Chelsea Lawson by calling Adam’s visit to the hospital a little strange, then agreed to keep the peace for Sally’s sake.

Is Claire right to draw a line with Audra now, or should she let the truce lie? Write to our editor at amber@soapoperamagazine.com and tell us why.

Holden Pulled Claire and Audra Apart Twice

The last two times Claire Newman and Audra got physical, Holden was the one between them. On November 17, 2025, at Crimson Lights, Audra taunted Claire about her Los Angeles past, and when things escalated, Holden stepped in. On December 5, at Society, Audra slapped Claire, Claire grabbed her by the throat, and Holden pulled them apart. Audra told Claire that if she wanted a war, she’d get one. Three weeks later, Claire threw a glass of water in her face.

Then Holden became the truce. In January, he and Audra made a pact over what happened in Los Angeles: she would leave Claire alone, and he would keep quiet. In February, Claire told Holden they had to stop seeing each other until he could be honest with her, and by March she had given up digging and declared a truce with Audra. As of May, Claire still didn’t believe Holden had told her everything about Los Angeles, and he hadn’t.

What Happened Between Claire and Audra on Young and the Restless?

Audra came between Claire and Kyle, and it has been war ever since. In April 2025, Victor Newman made a deal with Audra to come between Kyle Abbott and Claire Newman, and that August, Claire walked in on Audra kissing Kyle. Claire ended it with Kyle in September 2025 and turned to Holden, who told her that November about Audra and a missing $500,000 cashier’s check in Los Angeles.

Here’s the part Claire has never heard, as far as viewers have seen. In a June flashback, Audra remembered the night Holden accidentally killed an art dealer in Los Angeles while defending her. That is the secret behind the pact, so the truce Claire agreed to in March rests on something only Holden and Audra know.

Holden Hasn’t Been Seen Since August

It has been two months, and the show’s own lines disagree on where he is. One September episode had him back in Genoa City, yet on October 6, his mother, Stephanie Simmons, said he was in London with Malcolm. Nothing official says Holden is going anywhere, though one fan asked whether the show is replacing Nathan Owens. He isn’t in any CBS episode description for this week.

That leaves nobody in the middle on Wednesday, so when Claire draws her line, she draws it herself.

Stephanie Can’t Stand Audra, and She Goes Public With Nate Friday

Stephanie is on screen again this week, and Holden’s mother has never hidden which side she’s on. In April, she walked in on Audra and Holden arguing, even called her “Audrey,” and later told Holden that Audra is bad news, yet two weeks later she thanked Claire for being there for her son. Vivica A. Fox, who plays her, said in May, “I didn’t throw shade at her,” then added, “I threw a whole tree.”

If this is a fight for Stephanie’s approval, Claire won it in April. The wild card is Friday, when Stephanie goes public with Nate Hastings, Audra’s ex, after Lily fires Nate early in the week. Does Audra know about the romance yet? Nothing CBS has released says so.

Four Things Audra Could Be Pushing On

CBS hasn’t said, so here’s my ranking. First, Holden and Los Angeles, because with him nowhere in sight, Audra may be testing whether the pact still holds. Second, Kyle, the weapon she has used against Claire since 2025. Third, Holden’s family, with Stephanie back and Nate going public two days later. Fourth, the Newman war on Spectra-Charles, since Victor vowed in July to wipe out Audra’s company, and Claire Newman is his granddaughter.

Claire Is Drawing the Line Holden Used to Hold

Holden pulled these two apart twice, and his silence about Los Angeles is what their truce runs on. With him off screen since August, nobody stands in the middle anymore. My prediction: Claire’s boundary is about Holden, and Audra hears it as a threat to the one secret she can’t afford to lose.
