CURTIS ASHFORD WANTS SONNY TO PAY, AND THE MAN HANDING HIM A MICROPHONE PAID VITO

TL;DR: On Monday, October 26, Curtis Ashford agreed to let Drew get his Pentonville story into The Banner so Sonny pays. Viewers know Ava and Drew set up that attack. On Tuesday, Gio asks Curtis to reconsider and Scout opens up to Drew.

Curtis Shook Hands With the Man Who Paid Vito

Curtis Ashford and Drew Cain are on the same side now, and on General Hospital that should terrify anyone who watched September 30. On Monday, October 26, Curtis agreed to let Drew help put his Pentonville story in front of the public so Sonny Corinthos finally pays. He has no idea he just shook hands with one of the two people who set up the attack.

Ava Jerome and Drew planned the Pentonville attack to frame Sonny, and Drew paid Sonny’s own man, Vito, to carry it out. Jenz Sidwell was the target. Curtis was beaten stepping in to save his cellmate, and the attackers made sure everyone heard Sonny’s name.

Monet Mitchell told Curtis he is headed back to Pentonville while she works his appeal, and he seethed that Sonny was getting away with nearly killing him and Sidwell. Every beat is in our October 26 recap.

Drew Kept His Own Name Off the Story

Monet’s plan is to win the court of public opinion with Curtis’s heroism. Drew liked it, with one condition: Aurora stays out. Curtis used to run the company and Jordan Ashford runs it now, so it would look like favoritism, and Drew has his own headache after Lulu Spencer‘s article. Better, he said, to put some distance between himself and Curtis. He offered to call Kevin Buchanan at The Banner instead.

Curtis agreed. He said he isn’t a hero and hates playing the PR game, but he will do it to get out of prison and home to his son, Desmond. Drew sent him off with exactly what Curtis wanted to hear: Sonny should pay.

Portia Robinson isn’t thrilled Drew is anywhere near this. Six days earlier, Justine Turner called Drew into her office and offered him immunity if he brought her something she could use against Sonny. “If I can’t get him for the attack at Pentonville, I’m going to get him for something else,” she said in our October 20 recap. Drew pointed straight at Sonny.

Does Curtis Know Drew Set Up the Pentonville Attack on General Hospital?

No. Nothing on screen shows Curtis Ashford, Monet or Justine knows who turned Vito. Even Sonny is in the dark: Jason Morgan told him whoever got to Vito clearly does not want to be found. We asked whether Drew could have framed Sonny back in September, and the reveal that he did crushed Sonny days later.

Here is the part nobody is connecting. On September 30, when Ava panicked that “this is not how it was supposed to go down,” Drew told her Curtis’s word actually helps them, because the police will believe Curtis over Sidwell. The Banner plan takes that same testimony to the whole town. Drew isn’t just helping an old colleague. He is turning the man his plan put in the hospital into his best alibi.

How Drew Could Turn Curtis Into His Weapon

Reading between the lines, Drew wins every way this plays out. If The Banner story lands, the public screams for Sonny’s head. If Drew takes Justine’s immunity offer, he could feed her Sonny’s old crimes while Curtis stands in the spotlight. And with Aurora’s name nowhere on it, Drew can walk away clean the second it turns on him.

That is the danger for Curtis Ashford. Drew has warned Ava that if they turn on each other, they both go to prison, and a new promo has the police naming Ava as their lead in the Jack Brennan case. If Ava cracks, would Drew stand by the man whose story he shopped, or let Curtis look like a fool who picked the wrong villain? My gut says Drew drops him in a heartbeat. Curtis already bet his freedom on a lawyer with family secrets, and his future keeps raising questions.

Gio and Scout Could Blow the Whole Thing Open

Tuesday tests the plan from both ends. Gio Palmieri visits Curtis, not to scare him, just to ask him to think about whether he heard wrong or the attackers lied. The same day, Scout Cain, the teenager who overheard Ava and Drew pay Vito to leave town, opens up to her father. Nobody has said what she tells him. Follow the week in our two-week spoilers and the full October 26 to 30 lineup.

Could the truth be closer than Drew thinks? If I know these writers, Curtis Ashford learns who set him up from the last person Drew expects, and by then his face will be on the front page of The Banner, pointing at the wrong man.

Curtis Is Aiming at the Wrong Man, and Drew Is Holding the Microphone

Curtis wants justice for the beating that nearly killed him, and he just handed his story to one of the two people who set it up. Team Drew says public pressure is the fastest way to get Curtis home to Desmond.

Team Curtis says a man who set up the attack has no business writing the headline about it. Who sees the truth first, Curtis or Scout? Tell us on our Facebook page.
