Days of Our Lives Recap: EJ DiMera and Johnny Cut Ties

The Days of Our Lives recap October 28, 2026 starts with a door closing. EJ DiMera found his son at DiMera and called it a long-overdue talk.

It was not a talk. EJ listed everything he has given Johnny DiMera and called what Johnny did a betrayal. “This is the last time I will waste breath trying to teach you the gravity of the life you were born into,” he said.

Johnny did not flinch. He said he is a good man and a good father, and that he will always choose his family over EJ. “I’m a better man than you are!” EJ told him he loves him, then told him he will not be hearing from him again, and walked out.

Later Stephanie came by. Johnny apologized for his father and blamed himself, and she told him he is still a Brady.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Steve Johnson Hands Cat Greene the Certificate

Steve Johnson told Cat Greene that EJ is more dangerous than ever and that she should never give him the benefit of the doubt. Rafe has told her to walk away too. Cat would not back down. She told Steve about EJ’s meeting with George and about overhearing Rita and Marlena.

EJ wanted her to get a copy of Dominic Marino‘s birth certificate from Marlena. She never had to. Steve handed it over.

Cat took it straight to EJ, who was pacing at home. He was relieved and impressed, asked her to make Dominic her top priority, and hugged her. She sent him a copy. We laid out how Steve armed Cat this morning, and the man who brought the certificate to Marlena now has it working inside EJ’s house.

Then a call came in. The ISA now has George’s laptop. EJ screamed and threw a book.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Joy Hugs Tate as Alex Walks In

Stephanie Johnson came home with news that her dad is fine and back at work. Alex Kiriakis told her Xander was shot. She admitted she asked Kayla to look into a stealth reflex test on Joy. Alex said it no longer matters, because Joy is improving, and he still trusts her. He pulled out a ladybug costume, wished she could join them for Halloween, and they kissed.

At the mansion, Joy Wesley walked around her room, telling Kelsey her parents will soon be under one roof. Tate Black came for a workout, saw her toes move, and was impressed. Joy flirted with him while the nanny was out. Alex texted that he was there, and Joy hugged Tate in thanks just as Alex walked in. She told Alex she will be walking before he knows it.

Gwen Gets Good News for Leo

Gwen Rizczech learned about Xander’s shooting from the news. Leo Stark apologized for not telling her sooner, and they learned Xander made it through surgery. Then Leo told her he and Javi are back together. Gwen was happy for him and tearful about being single. Leo promised she will find love, and that he is there until she does.

EJ DiMera Lost a Son and Gained a Weapon

Our take: EJ walked out on the one son who still had a conscience, then spent the rest of the hour celebrating a piece of paper. That paper came from Steve Johnson, of all people. With the ISA holding George’s laptop and Johnny gone, EJ has never had fewer people on his side. He just does not know it yet.
