LILY’S DESPERATE FIGHT TO KEEP MALCOLM ALIVE TAKES A BRUTAL TURN

TL;DR: On April 10’s Young and the Restless, Lily works to help Malcolm Winters survive aplastic anemia, but spoilers suggest she won’t be the bone marrow match he needs — and convincing Holden Novak to get tested could be the real battle.

Lily Winters Refuses to Lose Another Father

The Young and the Restless spoilers for April 10 reveal that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is throwing herself headfirst into saving Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) from a devastating aplastic anemia diagnosis. And honestly? The emotional weight behind this one is staggering. Lily already lived through the worst-case scenario once. When Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) died suddenly, there was nothing she could do. No warning. No chance to intervene. Just gone.

Now Malcolm is staring down that same kind of fate — except this time, there’s a window. A narrow, complicated, emotionally brutal window. But a window nonetheless. Lily Winters sees this as her shot at redemption. A do-over she never thought she’d get. The chance to actually fight for a father’s life instead of just grieving one.

She’d love nothing more than to be the bone marrow match that keeps Malcolm breathing. And you can bet she’s going to get tested immediately.

Why Lily Probably Won’t Be the Match

Here’s the gut punch, though. Having Lily be Malcolm’s perfect donor match? That’s the clean ending. The neat little bow. And this is a soap opera — they don’t do neat little bows.

Spoilers strongly suggest that Lily won’t be a viable match for the transplant. Which means the person who IS most likely compatible is the one person on earth who wants absolutely nothing to do with Malcolm Winters right now.

That would be Holden Novak (Nathan Owens).

Holden Novak Is Not Exactly in a Giving Mood

Holden just had his entire identity blown apart. Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) hid the truth about Malcolm being his biological father for decades. Three full decades of letting Holden believe he was Jackson Novak’s son. Three decades of lies stacked on top of lies.

So when someone walks up to Holden Novak and says “hey, that stranger who’s actually your real dad needs your bone marrow or he dies” — you can imagine how well that lands. Holden is furious. He’s lashing out. And frankly, who can blame him? The man is processing a complete demolition of everything he thought he knew about himself.

Why should he step up for some guy he doesn’t even know? That’s the question burning through Holden’s mind right now. And it’s a fair one.

Lily Winters Becomes the Bridge

This is where Lily Winters pivots from patient to advocate. If she can’t save Malcolm with her own biology, she’s going to do it with sheer force of will.

Lily is Holden’s biological half-sister — same father, different mothers. And spoilers say she’ll lean hard into that new family connection on April 10 to try and reach him. Could this mean Lily finally breaks through Holden’s defenses? Don’t be surprised if she puts everything on the line — the grief over Neil, the guilt she’s carried, the raw desperation of watching another father slip away.

She may not be the donor match Malcolm Winters needs. But Lily Winters could be the entire reason Holden agrees to get tested in the first place. And that? That might matter even more.

What’s Next for Malcolm and Holden?

If Holden Novak turns out to be a match — and everything points in that direction — saving Malcolm’s life could crack open a door that neither of them expected. Don’t be surprised if Malcolm and Holden share a quiet, tender moment after the procedure. Nothing dramatic. No instant father-son bond. Just a flicker of something real.

Given Malcolm’s history and Holden’s deep loyalty to the memory of Jackson Novak, this relationship is going to be a slow burn. But it starts somewhere. And it starts with Lily refusing to let either of these men give up.
